Evaluation of cardio respiratory fitness
Evaluación de la aptitud cardio respiratoria
Main Article Content
The purpose of this article is to present a theoretical review of conceptual elements on the evaluation of cardiorespiratory fitness, the main assessment methods and their general classification. In this way, it can be said that there are tests of maximum effort and submaximal effort, as well as tests that
They directly or indirectly determine oxygen consumption. In addition, depending on the medium, they can be classified into cycle ergometer, band, step or field tests. On the other hand, the evaluation of aerobic capacity can be done by monitoring other ventilatory, cardiovascular and metabolic parameters. Finally, this review concludes that maximum oxygen consumption is the physiological parameter that reflects the most real condition of the capacity and efficiency of the cardiopulmonary system, despite being able to consider other variables.
