Work stress (WS) is a "physiological, psychological and behavioral response of an individual who tries to adapt and adjust to internal and external pressures, which arises when there is a mismatch between the person, the workplace and the organization itself" (Delgado M. A., 2017). Several studies have shown the presentation of this condition in the professionals who dedicate themselves to teaching, González "demonstrated in a study that the labor distress (bad stress) prevails in the third part of the teachers because the demands of work is excessive overcoming its capacity for resistance " (González, 2008), likewise other authors, show the problems presented in the health of teachers due to WS (M sanchez Fernandez, 2005). For this reason, this article presents the results of the study of prevalence of work stress in physiotherapy teachers of a higher education institution in the city of Bogotá, its Objective: Determine the prevalence of cases of WS in the professors of a higher education institution, using the WS identification instrument of the International Organization for Work and the World Health Organization, in order to establish or change policies in terms of job security
