Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorders (MED) are health conditions that can compromise body movement and be related to the execution of the work gesture. The objective of this study was to document motor control in the prevention of MED of labor origin to improve the functional capacity and quality of life of workers. This exploration was developed between 1994 and 2017; it integrated the review of 34 documents with the keywords motor control, skeletal muscle disorders, motor gesture and prevention. From this review, a reflection is presented regarding the possible correspondence between the motor control and the DME and how its approach induces improvements in the neuronal interconnection that could facilitate the development of tasks within functional movement patterns with greater efficiency and safety.
