Fibromyalgia is a morbid condition that manifests itself with a chronic diffuse pain, affecting the lower back,  irradiated to the lower extremities and in the upper back part of the shoulders, with reduced threshold to pain, it is accompanied by fatigue, alterations of mood and joint stiffness. It is well known that physical activity brings improvement in the quality of life of individuals in all aspects, physical and emotional. There are not enough studies on the effect of physical activity in patients with fibromyalgia. The present investigation analyzed the effect of a physical activity aquatic program on the physical capacities of people carrying fibromyalgia. Method: A 58-year-old female subject with fibromyalgia pathology from the age of 40 was sought for this investigation. The research design was descriptive-observational, prospective and longitudinal; considering the variables of fibromyalgia, physical activity and quality of life. The strengthening of the joints was worked on, with specific exercises for 13 weeks at a moderate intensity. Results: After exercising in the water, the patient improved upper and lower trunk strength, flexibility, agility and dynamic balance and aerobic capacity, as well as decreased anxiety and depression. Conclusion: A program of aquatic physical activity is an ideal means to improve physical abilities and psychological well-being in a patient with fibromyalgia
