Abstract

Introduction: the history of physiotherapy has allowed it to position itself as a profession and a lifestyle. In Colombia, physiotherapy has made sense since its inception with an important role in the rehabilitation of the population and above all because of the satisfaction that professionals feel when performing it; In Antioquia there are only 2 universities in charge of training physiotherapists, of which the CES University is part, which has been training humane and above all excellent professionals from its first promotion to the present. The number of professionals graduating from the CES University has gradually increased and that is why it is necessary to know the conditions that favor their professional practice, in order to maintain a relevant and appropriate training commitment to the context. Objective: to explore the working conditions in the professional practice of physiotherapists who graduated from the CES University. Materials and methods: qualitative study of exploratory scope. A semi-structured interview and a focus group were conducted with four graduates; The analysis of the information was guided by the methodological indications that the grounded theory offers in terms of coding the information. Results: for the participants, there are four conditions that favor professional practice: permanent professional qualification; construction of the professional role; working conditions and love for the profession. These conditions are improved thanks to empowerment, which puts on the horizon the issue of the union and what training must offer to achieve participation and active involvement in the construction of the professional role. Conclusions: the conditions that favor the professional practice of physiotherapists at the CES university are associated not only with the external, but also with the personal, such as feeling love for what is done and where it is done, being and feeling satisfied with the Laboral life.
