Stimulation in children is understood as that discipline responsible for the empowerment and rehabilitation of child development, in which the different sciences applied to human beings contribute their knowledge by carrying out interdisciplinary management; The term in turn refers to educational and neuroprotective strategies aimed at improving brain development. Therefore, this article aims to review the promotion and prevention programs for adequate stimulation in children with motor delay from 0 to 12 months of age. Review Methodology: The Pubmed, Scielo, Lilacs and EBSCO Host databases were consulted, with a publication period from January 2000 to June 2013, using MesH terms and search equations in both English and Spanish. Results: 152 articles were found, of which those that met the inclusion criteria were selected, leaving a total of 22 articles selected, in which important aspects were found such as: intervention times and intervention categories. Conclusion: Adequate stimulation has positive effects on motor development and even more so, if there is support from parents, in order to promote evolutionary processes by improving the child's physical independence to explore the environment.
