Características demográficas y epidemiológicas de la atención de afecciones respiratorias en un hospital de II nivel en Bogotá
Main Article Content
Respiratory diseases are highly prevalent entities in global epidemiological profiles, particularly in developing countries where infectious and contagious etiologies are still common, having a negative impact on health systems due to their high economic costs, although it is not clear until now. the demographic and epidemiological characteristics with which they occur in a Level II Hospital. With the purpose of identifying this information, a cross-sectional study was carried out with secondary sources of information taking the statistical records of patients with respiratory conditions treated in the Physiotherapy Service of the San Blas Hospital from January to May 2005. It was found that the greatest Percentage of the patients (58.1%) treated belonged to the male gender. The main entities for which Physiotherapy care was presented were: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (23.0%), followed by hemothorax (22.0%) and the third entity in care was bronchopneumonia (21.3%) 0.09). From the results obtained, it is possible to conclude that, in the same way as similar studies report, consultations with Physiotherapy services for respiratory diseases occur mainly due to chronic entities as well as those related to trauma and violence, without eradicating those of an infectious nature. , which is why the prevention of these pathologies continues to be important.
