Ergonomic aspects of the workplace of a person with nemaline myopathy
Aspectos ergonómicos del puesto de trabajo de una persona con miopatía nemalínica Case report
Main Article Content
24-year-old male diagnosed with Nemalinic Myopathy which mainly affects the neuromuscular axis, causing limitations in work and social performance. The worker enters to work in an institution of higher education, performing different administrative positions. Since his incorporation, the institution has been in charge of making adaptations in the work environment, the workstation and the infrastructure according to the needs identified by the occupational health and safety area. However, an ergonomic analysis was performed with the international standard ISO 11226: 2000 “Ergonomics - Evaluation of static working postures” and the application of the ROSA methodology “Rapid Office Strain Assessment” during the professional practice of the physiotherapy undergraduate, where exposure to biomechanical risks and musculoskeletal disorders was identified, in addition to limitations in the activity and restrictions in the participation in their work environment. It is evident the lack of adaptation of the different environments in which a person with a disability is involved, therefore it is recommended to promote wellness and encourage inclusion processes to improve the participation of people with disabilities.
