Abstract

University-level scientific journals are an excellent medium for disseminating advances in science, technology, the arts, disciplines, and professions. They allow research results to be disseminated, compared, and validated through the critical lens of the academic community.
The significant institutional effort, in terms of financial and human resources, to have quality journals that have been evaluated by experts is undertaken because this allows the transfer of the knowledge generated and seeks, among other things, to contribute to social cohesion and the advancement of science and humanity; the missionary and vocational objective of a university institution such as this one. The Ibero-American University Corporation has a 32-year history of offering programs in health areas, playing an active role in training professionals with a critical and analytical mind. These skills have allowed them to enhance the impact of their work performance, going beyond the mere application of their knowledge. They are constantly seeking to improve their knowledge to prevent and solve problems in their fields. This has been possible thanks to the rigorous disciplinary training provided, but particularly thanks to the knowledge provided in the methodological field and the institutional research culture.
The institution's research tradition during this time has established it as an academic benchmark, and its research has championed disciplinary contributions and advances in the development of technology and the profession. It has always been based on a functional perspective that pushes the boundaries of knowledge and its practical application. This journal, now indexed, is a reflection of ongoing work dedicated to developing research that contributes to improving people's quality of life, thus fulfilling one of the priority objectives of training in health care. A review of the published articles will allow readers just beginning their training in topics related to human kinetics and experts to broaden their knowledge horizons; for those in professional practice, it will provide them with practical and applicable tools that will allow them to improve prevention, diagnosis, and intervention actions; and for those involved in teaching or research, the journal will provide rich analytical elements that can contribute to deepening or serve as a basis for building knowledge.
