Editorial Perception of change and evolution of the paradigm in scientific publications
Main Article Content
Scientific publishing is a continuous process inherent to the change sown by the digital ecosystem. When associating the paradigm with the Impact and Visibility of works, the need to incorporate new elements and methodologies that facilitate understanding of the status of publications in society is evident; especially because many works are in physical formats and are not yet computationally readable or analyzable, in order to concretely determine their reach in the Academic Community. However, trends in search engines, especially those related to high-level aggregators such as WoS (Web of Science), Scopus, or Google Scholar, have highlighted a set of conditions and characteristics in the unstructured research dynamics that are now possible thanks to their vast computational capabilities, but which do not reflect a large percentage of the works published by institutions, journals, and other publishing services that are not computationally readable or are offline. This editorial addresses these challenges in a natural and transparent manner in order to project the perspectives for change to the community.
